Health Service

Burton Hospital

‘A number of unions representing different staff groups at Burton Hospitals have balloted for strike action and as a result, some staff will be joining the national day of action on Wednesday 30th November.'

Emergency Services within Burton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust will still be available to patients.

Services that are likely to be affected:

  • The fracture clinic will be running a reduced  service
  • The X-Ray Department will be operating an  Emergency service only
  • There will be no X-Ray facilities for patients  referred directly by their GP on Wednesday
  • Some surgical procedures have been cancelled but  the patients will have been notified
  • Outpatient appointments will continue as usual  unless patients have been notified not to attend

Stafford & Cannock Chase Hospitals

'A number of unions representing different staff groups at Stafford and
Cannock Chase Hospitals have balloted for strike action and as a result,
some staff will be joining the national day of action on Wednesday 30th
November.

The expected impact is:

Emergency Services within Stafford Hospital will still be
available to patients, with the exception of Occupational Therapy
services.

Non-emergency services in both Stafford and Cannock Chase
Hospital will be reduced but patients who are affected have already been
contacted. Anyone who has an appointment on Wednesday and has not been
contacted should come along as normal.

Outpatients appointments will continue as usual unless patients
have been notified not to attend.

The fracture clinic will be running a reduced service.

Our X-Ray Department will be operating an Emergency service only
on Wednesday - outpatients who were due to have x-rays that day have
been contacted, and where possible asked to attend for an x-ray before
Wednesday, so that their outpatient appointment can go ahead.

There will be no X-Ray facilities for patients referred directly
by their GP on Wednesday.'
