Police have described the three year jail sentence handed down to a Lichfield drug dealer as a significant result.
Stafford Crown Court heard that on 3 February this year police had routinely stopped a Toyota Ago in Ivanhoe Road, Lichfield at around 4pm.
Police found cannabis, £200 in cash, two mobile phones and a kitchen knife in Rhys Cowan's car.
The 21-year-old, of Dovehouse Fields, pleaded guilty to a number of offences relating to the possession of class A, B and C drugs with intent to supply.
Sergeant Karen Green, of Lichfield District Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “This is a significant result and we’re glad for the support of the local community.
“Cowan was jailed as a result of an effective stop and search and an ongoing operation conducted by police community support officers (PCSOs) who worked with the local community to gather evidence and build a case.”
Further items were seized at a house search.
