Police searching for a missing man from Burton have confirmed that he has been found safe and well.
Nazakat Hussain, 27, was last seen on 17 October 2018 when leaving his home address in Edward Street, Shobnall.
Staffordshire Police renewed their appeal to find him over the weekend, and on Saturday (5 January), conducted a search of the River Trent in the town.
Following the operation, which was conducted alongside Staffordshire Search and Rescue, Mr Hussain got in touch with officers in the North West at around 6pm to confirm that he was safe and well.
Detective Inspector John Quilty said: "As a result of the weekend activity and on-going police work with community contacts within Burton-on-Trent, Nazakat made contact with local officers where he was staying and we are satisfied he is safe and well.
"I'd like to thank the search and rescue team and everyone who has made contact with us and shared our appeal."
