Witness appeal following Swadlincote burglary

Derbyshire Police are appealing for witnesses after a burglary in Midway, Swadlincote.

Reports say it happened between 3pm and 7.30pm on Saturday (5 January) at a house in Burton Road.

Jewellery, cash and keys to two vehicles were stolen from the property, and officers have released a CCTV image of a person they believe could be a key witness to their investigation.

The person pictured was walking along Burton Road, between the Wheel Inn and the Sandicliffe Road crossroads at the time of the break-in. They walked around a dark-coloured Volkswagen Touareg, which was parked on the kerb at the time.

Police stress that they want to speak to the person purely as a witness to the incident.

If you recognise them or the parked vehicle, or have any information that could be useful to police enquiries, you can get in touch by calling 101 and quoting reference number 19*6381 as well as the name of the officer in the case, PC Kim Wheldon.

You can also contact Derbyshire Police through their Facebook and Twitter pages, website, or alternatively you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
